Oldcastle Seminars

Builders Mall, located at Wulff Road, comprising FYP, Tile King and The Paint Centre, hosted a series of Seminars on March 18th and 19th. The Seminar was conducted by ProSpec, a member of the Bonsal/Sakrete group and recognized as the distinct leader in tile setting systems.

Mark Roberts, owner of Builders Mall, understands that a well-informed and well-trained employee will enhance customer satisfaction. To this end, 20 plus staff attended the Seminars, which gave them the tile know-how to advise and assist both consumers and contractors in their tile and setting materials choices.

Additionally, over 30 luminaries in the architectural and contractor fields were invited to attend a specially organized luncheon and Seminar on 'Evaluating and Specifying Tile Setting and Grout Materials on Poured Concrete Slabs'. Attendees were shown an in-depth presentation by Kevin McFadden of ProSpec, which was both detailed and relevant to The Bahamas and covered industrial, commercial and residential tile laying techniques. McFadden emphasized the importance of quality tiles and that using the correct substrate and installation materials is the key to longevity.

The Seminar was followed by a lively Q & A session. Participating architects earned a Certificate qualifying them for one AIA (American Institute of Architects) Learning Credit.

Architects commented that the Seminar had been concise and informative and had definitely expanded their knowledge of the procedures required for successful tile installation. It had also underlined that the field was continually evolving and improving and that Seminars such as this one helped them keep current with new products and techniques.
